The Willows re-accredited with the gold standards framework and nominated for ward of the year.

We are delighted to report the wonderful news that the Willows has been re-accredited with the Gold Standards Framework and in addition been nominated for Ward of the year. Well-deserved successes.

Announcing the award , Hospital Matron Ali Low said: ‘I am so proud of the team, given all of the difficulties regarding staffing and Covid, it is such an achievement. I also want to thank the Friends for the support with funding, so that we were able to undertake our GSF re-accreditation.’

On hearing the news , in a note to the Matron, David Hayes, Chairman of the Friends wrote:  ‘On behalf of our President and my fellow Trustees, I send to you and all your Team on the Willows Wards our huge congratulations on your nomination as a contender for a GSF Ward of the Year Award. It was indeed a pleasure and a very good investment for FOYH to sponsor you for the re-accreditation process.’

The Gold Standards Framework (GSF) is an evidence based systematic approach to formalising best practice through improving the organisation and coordination of care for all people with any condition in any setting in the final year or so of life.
