The past few days have certainly been a rollercoaster as the nation learned of the passing of Queen Elizabeth the Second. Sadness mixed with interest as we watched for the first time the behind-the-scenes succession of a new King.
It was with reflective thought that the Trustees decided to continue to hold our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday September 14th as originally planned in Digby Memorial Church Hall at 6:00pm. Even though our primary guest speaker, Dawn Dawson, will not be able to join us because of an NHS directive during the period of mourning, we are delighted to hear from Stephen Uden on the positive impact the Friend’s contributions have made to young people here in Sherborne.
Don’t forget that we will be electing four new Trustees and a new Chairman! It’s your opportunity to say farewell to three retiring Trustees: Elizabeth Turnbull, Peter Neal and Tony Meehan, and out-going Chairman, David Hayes. It’s also your chance to meet our four new Trustees: Belinda Wingfield-Digby, Cheryl Whybrew, John Stokoe and Sir Christopher Coville. Enjoy getting to know them over a cooling drink and a feast of nibbles. .
Looking forward to seeing you Wednesday evening!
Kind Regards
