Dear Supporters of The Friends,
NHS DORSET CLINICAL COMMISSIONING GROUP – SPECIAL GOVERNING BODY MEETING – WEDNESDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 2017
On 13 September we published the Recommendations of the Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group (DCCG), to enable the Governing Body to consider those Recommendation. This morning at its meeting in Dorchester, the Governing Body approved all the Recommendations in full. We are particularly pleased to confirm the Governing Body’s specific decision with regard to the Yeatman Hospital:
Integrated Community Services (ICS)
ICS 2. The Governing Body is requested to approve the recommendation to commission a community hub with beds at Sherborne (Yeatman) Hospital.
Governing Board Decision – A unanimous vote in favour – Approved
In due course, on our website we shall publish the full set of Recommendations approved by the Governing Body which cover the interests of the future of Medical and Mental Services Care within Dorset.
This statement of intent by the Governing Body represents an excellent outcome for the Yeatman Hospital. It is the result of some 2 years of a review and consultation process, during which the Friends Committee has vigorously represented the views of the Friends and the wishes of the dedicated Yeatman Hospital Staff.
We should now look forward to being able to assess the future infrastructure and financial plans to ensure the delivery of the Governing Body’s intent, in order to secure the Yeatman’s continued unique support, in all its Medical and Social Care facets, to both the benefit and reassurance of the residents of Sherborne and our local communities.
David G Hayes CBE
Chairman, Friends of Yeatman Hospital
