Future Healthcare For Community and Hospital Services

Hopefully many people are now aware of the consultation process which is underway concerning the proposals for the provision of health services across Dorset, and the implications for all hospitals including the Yeatman Hospital.

The Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are the purchasers of health services, and have spent considerable time and expense in drawing up these plans with the aim of maintaining excellent services despite budget constraints.

If you missed the Drop-in event at the Digby Hall on 15 December, you still have time to pick up a copy of the consultation document “Improving Dorset’s Healthcare” and to give your feedback via the questionnaire, which needs to be returned by 28 February.  Copies can be found at GP surgeries, the Yeatman Hospital, and at the back of many local churches.

We understand that feedback “…will help inform final decision making”, so it is probably important to send in positive feedback for what appears to be encouraging news for the Yeatman, as this will help to counterbalance the likely substantial objections for other areas whose news is less encouraging.

The proposals will impact on all of us, and this is your opportunity to express your views.
