The Friends support for Yeatman Adult speech and language therapy unit receives a vote of thanks from the staff
Following a recent award, agreed by the Trustees to the Yeatman Hospital’s Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service, David Hayes, Chairman of the Friends received a letter of appreciation from Natalie Pitman the team leader in the department.
In the past 12 months Yeovil Hospital had 18,000 patient appointments with Sherborne and area postcodes. Patients from Sherborne had more than 600 appointments to receive breast cancer treatment at Yeovil District Hospital, which is an increase of 5% on the previous year. Its importance to Sherborne and surrounding villages as an essential link in local healthcare is obvious.
David Hayes, Chairman of the Friends of the Yeatman Hospital, today announced the Charity’s Trustees’ support for a new Breast Cancer Unit at Yeovil District Hospital.
On the first page of the first Minute Book, which record the meetings of the Friends, it was written that at the First Quarterly Meeting of the Yeatman Hospital Visitor’s Committee was held on July 26th, 1951, ‘The Friends of the Yeatman Hospital’ was born.
